The RMS Titanic left Southampton on 12 April, 1912 on its maiden voyage to New York, stopping in Queenstown on 12 April to pick up its final 123 passengers. 1503 passengers and crew perished in the mid-Atlantic on the night of 14/15 April when the ship hit an iceberg and sank.
