Moby Dick (the original and best version by the way) was filmed in Youghal in the 1950's and not in New Bedford at all. This mural commemorates the white whale and Ahab's vain pursuit for revenge and is situated at the right hand gable end of the pub which goes by the same name as the whale X1077 : Moby Dick's Pub, Youghal.

You can almost hear them now :
