Silverstrand beach
Silverstrand beach
The sandy Silverstrand beach (Trá na gCeann), a Blue Flag beach near Barna (Bearna). In the background are the cliffs of Knocknagoneen, one of a group of drumlins protecting Rusheen Bay from the sea, the shape of which can clearly be seen in this photo. Erosion has led to a cliff revealing the glacial till which forms the main structure of the drumlin.
