'A' Wing, Armagh Gaol

A wing at the closed gaol. There was no access to this part of the building, so this image is taken through the bars. The light appears to be natural, flooding in from skylight windows.

Armagh Gaol

Former gaol in the centre of Armagh which was opened around 1780 and closed in 1986 H8745 : Armagh Prison.. The sites at Link , Link and Link will give useful historical information. There have been plans to completely refurbish the buildings, possibly as a hotel, but, at the time of writing, no redevelopment looks likely in the immediate future.
