NX1959 : The Deil's Well

taken 9 years ago, near to Whitecairn, Dumfries And Galloway, Scotland

The Deil's Well
The Deil's Well
The spring in the foreground is named on the 1850 OS map as the Deil's Well. In a neighbouring field about 200 metres to the southeast is the site of Ghaist Hall (Link ) and it seems very likely that the two are linked to the story of the haunting of Campbell's Croft in the mid 17th century.
