East Coast Main Line

The East Coast Main Line is a 393 mile long high speed electrified railway between London and Edinburgh, via Peterborough, Doncaster, York and Newcastle. It was constructed between 1846 & 1871 by several different rail companies.

Newcastle Central Station

Newcastle Central Station opened in 1850 for the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway Company. It is a Grade I listed building. LinkExternal link . The station is situated on the East Coast Main Line, but a variety of rail companies run services across the country.
