NJ6214 : Strathdoune is in fact the property "Crimond", not Corner Cottage (which I think is called "Netherton" Cottage since the whole community was once called Netherton and not Whitehouse). The buildings you see here are much changed from the original, with the old steadings demolished and replaced by a developing eco-extension built with straw bales, glass bottle heat store driven by geothermal energy, etc, etc. Admittedly, the new work is potentially in keeping with the appearance of the original buildings. A famous botanist, John Duncan, the Alford Weaver, once lived in or near this property....more details can be found at
