Public art work at Bloody Bridge Car Park
The work of a Ralph Sander, a Belfast-based German artist, the two columns represent the granite tors of the Mournes, while the space in between depicts the head of a smuggler. Bloody Bridge was an inlet used by smuggling gangs until comparatively recently when the duty laws were changed. Sander depicts the smuggler as a man who had to blend into the Mourne landscape.
