Former steam-driven forging hammer, Prince Street, Blaenavon
A nearby information board states that this large steam-driven forging hammer was used to reshape hot metal at Doncasters, Blaenavon. It was moved here in the late 1980s. In 1957, Doncasters took over the remaining works of the Blaenavon Company and manufactured specialists steel parts for aircraft.

The area adjacent to the forging hammer formerly contained shops, workshops and workers' housing.
It was greatly altered in the 1980s when the present road layout was created.
