Access to the Kilnaruan Stone
The Kilnaruan Stone (see V9847 : The Kilnaruan Stone) is a fine example of an inscribed standing stone and stands within a fenced and mown area in the middle of a field. Access is another matter and involves trekking across long grass in a field occupied by a number of cattle and, as can be seen in this photo, to reach the gate into the enclosure involves stepping across a large muddy puddle. We preferred to squeeze through another section of the fence!
