M2301 : The Glensleade depression

taken 9 years ago, 5 km WNW of Carran, Co Clare, Ireland

The Glensleade depression
The Glensleade depression
West of the R480 road is another of the Burren's remarkable 'blind valleys' where a deep depression in the landscape has no exit. Large enough to be a 'polje' rather than a 'doline'. The bottom of this depression has a spot height of 97, whilst the surrounding land is around the 150m level.
