The airport handled 21.7 million passengers in 2014 – more than twice the total number at Cork, Shannon, Belfast International and Belfast City. For comparison Manchester had 21.9 million passengers in the same year.

Dublin Airport handles more passengers than the combined total of all other airports on the island of Ireland. It has easy motorway links and attracts a considerable number of passengers from Northern Ireland. Ulsterbus/Bus Eireann and Aircoach run hourly express coach services from Belfast direct to the terminal.
