Chatsworth Bridge - 1
James Paine's Three Arch Bridge over the River Derwent was started in 1759 and substantially completed by 1761. The bridge was based on Italian prototypes such as the Roman bridge at Rimini. The bridge carries the main drive up to the house and was positioned to be seen from the house and to provide a view to the house from the entrance drive.
