Flooded Fields in Frenchfort/Mountain West region, County Galway
Flooded Fields in Frenchfort/Mountain West region, County Galway
These fields frequently flood in winter and are otherwise used solely as grazing land. To the immediate left of the image lies the southwestern end of the Mountain West commercial conifer plantation. To the right of the image lies the extreme end of the Frenchfort townland which stops at the northern end of the plantation. Several stone walls are fully submerged in the flooded area and the waters can reach 2 metres depth in some spots.
