Midland Railway Centre - Western Lady
Midland Railway Centre - Western Lady
One of a class of 74 large diesel hydraulic locomotive built between 1961 and 1964 for BR Western Region and known as the 'Westerns'. Later class 52. This was built in 1962, withdrawn in 1977 and is owned privately. Beyond is a very grubby looking locomotive that I think is a class 47 - ubiquitous when I was travelling on the railway in the 1970s and 1980s.
