Spoil heap and small quarry face near South Cornelly
The image shows the eastern end of a large spoil heap from local quarrying. The picture overlaps considerably with
SS8280 : Quarry spoil heap near South Cornelly in its coverage of the heap.
A block of limestone can be seen extending rightwards from a spot just above the pampas grass. This appears to have undergone some quarrying resulting in a reasonably vertical face of rock. If so, it may be noted that quarrying on a much greater scale takes place elsewhere locally. For an example of this see
SS8380 : Cornelly Quarry.
