The N22 heading for Cork
The N22 heading for Cork
In times gone by, driving through Cork in a broadly west to east direction was an absolute nightmare. But now, with a splendid new bypass to the south and a tunnel under Lough Mahon to the east (largely funded, I suspect, by the EU), it is a dream. If ever there was a place where their standard 1.90 Euro toll would be justified, it is here - but no, it is free.

Now perhaps they could sort out (the city of) Galway, which is still chaotic.
