A now-vacant building, at the corner of Montgomery Street built, in the late 1980’s, on the site at lower right in J3474 : Chichester Street, Belfast (1981). Originally occupied by Allied Hambro (later Allied Dunbar). J3474 : Car park, Chichester Street, Belfast (August 2008) is on the left.
There was the following planning permission (21 February 2011) “Z/2008/1979/DCA Demolition of existing four storey office and retail building at junction of Montgomery Street and Chichester Street. 34-36 Chichester Street, Belfast” subject to conditions one of which was “This consent is granted subject to the implementation of a satisfactory replacement scheme as approved under planning application reference Z/2008/1978/F. Reason: To ensure the implementation of a satisfactory replacement scheme-in the interests of the Belfast City Centre Conservation Area.”
Z/2008/1978/F (approved on 21 February 2011) is as follows “Mixed use development incorporating retail and offices to have basement car park with plant and ancillary, ground floor retail, 1st-6th floors offices plus roof plant rooms. Site comprising 7-9 Arthur Place, 28-36 Arthur Street, 20-32 Chichester Street and existing building at 34-36 Chichester Street, Belfast.”
