Former Burton's shop, Belfast

This elephant’s head adorns the former Burtons on the corner of Ann Street and Telfair Street. It was built in 1931-32 in the days when Burtons was indeed the “fifty bob tailor”. The building is presently unoccupied but seems to be a candidate for inclusion in the Victoria Square development J3474 : Belfast's new dome. Telfair Street has ceased to exist.
