The “News Letter” has been published since 1737 but its former offices in Donegall Street were not built until 1872-74. The paper is now edited and published from modern premises in south Belfast. This is some of the detail on the building. The heads are said to be those of literary people.

A building designed by William Hastings and completed in 1874. It includes a number of ornamental heads, without identification, but said to be those of literary people.
