Former Armagh City Hospital

Located in Abbey Street, the hospital was built in 1774 to plans drawn up by the architect George Ensor on what had been the site of the former home of Thomas Dawson, Burgess of Armagh. After its closure, it was for a time in the 1990s the Armagh campus of Queen's University Belfast. Today parts of the building house Armagh's Irish and Local Studies Library, Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Planning Department and the Armagh Youth Hostel.
