The Victoria Street gate lodge of St Mark's Parish Church
Built initially in 1832, the gate lodge was rebuild in 2002 to act as the Parish Office. The fortified compound in the background is Gough Barracks now a PSNI facility
St Mark's Church

This was designed by Francis Johnston in 1811 but was considerable enlarged between 1831 and 1866. It can seat 1500 people.

Gough Barracks

The barracks were first established on the site in 1773 and served as the depot of the RIF (Royal Irish Fusiliers) between 1880-1960. With the coming of The Troubles it was garrisoned by the 2Bn UDR (Ulster Defence Regiment)in the early 1970s. From the mid seventies it has served as a policing base initially for the RUC and then its successor the PSNI.
