St Patrick's RC Cathedral viewed from English Street
St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral, the seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland stands on a hill facing the Anglican Cathedral. With its 210ft high twin spires it is visible from most parts of the town. Work on the edifice began on St Patrick's Day 1840 and continued under a succession of architects until its was finally completed in 1904.
