SP0445 : The Simon de Montfort Bridge

taken 17 years ago, near to Offenham, Worcestershire, England

The Simon de Montfort Bridge
The Simon de Montfort Bridge
With two bridges in Evesham flooded, this bridge on the A46 Evesham by-pass provided the only road crossing of the Avon for people travelling into or out of the town centre, meaning a five-mile detour. Traffic came to a standstill during Saturday due to the volume of traffic using one of the few open crossings of the River Avon.
