War memorial in the former Highbury Works
War memorial in the former Highbury Works
Highbury Works, now converted to apartments, is a former industrial building by the Meanwood Beck in north Leeds. The memorial is visible through the entrance gate. It names nine workers who were killed in the First World War, and many more who served and survived. It also recalls that the millowners, Robert Jowitt and Sons, were based in Bradford. For the memorial from their main works, now in Bradford Industrial Museum, see SE1834 : Bradford Industrial Museum - war memorial (5).
