Castlelake Lake, Carrigtohil
A small artificial lake/pond was created when the housing development in the background was being created.

All is not as it seems in this picture however - the apartment block in the background, despite its very modern prospect, is actually totally derelict as is another even larger one to its left. These were built in the mid 2000s in the period known here in Ireland as the Celtic Tiger where property prices rocketed and eventually crashed when the recession hit. The building industry collapsed overnight.

On closer inspection, the entire block is now crumbling - many windows have been smashed and there's been rampant vandalism. It's unlikely that these will ever now be completed and in all likelihood will eventually be demolished rather than completed.
