Fells, cattle and drystone walls, Ambleside, Cumbria
While cattle are not as common place as sheep, the photograph shows a typical Lakeland mix of animal farming and the region's dramatic upland scenery.
"Copes", "Hearts" and "Footings" are some of the terms used to describe the different parts of a drystone wall. In this photograph, the copes, sometimes called "cocks and hens", are laid at an angle.
Behind the wall, a herd of mixed cattle take advantage of the sunshine. The breeds appear to be Jersey and Dexter.
