J2965 : The M1, Tullynacross near Lisburn - March 2017(1)
taken 7 years ago, near to Ballyskeagh, Co Down, Northern Ireland
The Department for Infrastructure has invited tenders for the following works “Works to provide hard shoulder running buslanes on the M1 from (Junction 8 [Sprucefield] to Ballyskeagh) and on the M2 (from Greencastle to Duncrue) including Civil engineering works, provision and installation of ITS [Intelligent Transport Systems] infrastructure, temporary traffic management and all other associated works” and “Work is currently ongoing to initiate a tender competition for the extension of the M1 and M2 busways. These include the introduction on a temporary basis of a bus-lane on the hard shoulders of both the M1 and M2 city bound and the enlargement of the Blacks Road Park and Ride site. These will boost the growth in Park and Ride and help mitigate congestion during the construction of the York Street Interchange scheme.”
The Department has not (5 March 2017) announced a starting date. The photographs submitted by me appear as a neutral matter of “before, during and after” record only.
I have no connection with any Department or company involved in the work and cannot enter into correspondence.
