Pumps at Kirkstall Forge
Pumps at Kirkstall Forge
Seen from the station car park. Kirkstall Forge is a very old industrial site, and its redevelopment involves clearing a lot of the land under former buildings. Being beside the River Aire, a lot of water is likely to seep into these areas.
Kirkstall Forge development :: SE2536

The site at Kirkstall Forge is being redeveloped to provide commercial and residential buildings and a new railway station. The former factory buildings were cleared several years previously, and development was delayed by the recession. The railway station has been built during 2015, and will open by Easter 2016 (having suffered several unexplained delays), and construction of the first commercial building is planned for 2016. A new access road has been built to the station from Abbey Road near the junction with Hawksworth Road.
