The Baily Lighthouse is situated on the southeastern part of Howth Head. The present lighthouse tower was completed in 1814, together with a house for the lighthouse keeper. The top of the tower, which is maintained by the Commissioners of Irish Lights LinkExternal link , was automated in 1996.
