The Narrows from Windmill Hill, Portaferry
The Narrows from Windmill Hill, Portaferry
The Narrows (the channel linking the North Irish Sea with Strangford Lough) separates the villages of Portaferry and Strangford. Tidal flows through The Narrows are often fierce. Beyond Strangford are the undulating farmlands and woodlands of the Lecale Peninsula. Also visible, some 20 miles to the South, are the peaks of the High Mournes.
