Memorial to the 36th Ulster Division
The 36th (Ulster) Division was an infantry division of the British Army formed in September 1914 and originally made up of members of the Ulster Volunteer Force, a unionist militia founded in 1912 to block Home Rule for Ireland.

This memorial is the beer garden of the Rex Bar on Shankill Road. Its inscription reads:
“In Honoured Memory Of The Officers, NCOs And Volunteers Of The 36th (Ulster) Division Who Selflessly Gave Their Lives For King And Country At The Battle Of The Somme And In Other Campaigns Throughout The Great War.”
1914 – 1918

The memorial also features the division's insignia, the Red Hand of Ulster.
