Lagan Weir, Belfast
The Lagan Weir, completed in 1994, is a series of massive steel barriers which are raised as the tide retreats to keep the river at an artificially constant level. The large bridge in the background is Lagan Bridge which opened in 1995, connecting the A2 road with the M2 motorway.
