A vacant building, with an “agreed patch on the agents’ sign, at the corner of Ebor Drive. Described as “The units are situated in an excellent location close to City Centre, Both Hospitals, Queens University and access to the M1 motorway is only one minute away. Outline Planning permission granted 3rd June 2016. (LA04/2016/0329/0) 2no. retail units with associated office space on first floor above.”

J3272 : Former Ulster Bank, Lisburn Road, Belfast (March 2016)

Ulster Bank, Lisburn Road opened on 27 January 1927 as an agency from Shaftesbury Square and became a full branch on 2 May 1932, the first Manager being Herbert E Henry. Apparently - the counter was 4 inches higher than normal (small customers need not apply), but that was probably demolished when the "bandit screens" appeared in branches in the early 1970's. The front door step was cut from Castlewellan granite and, if it has survived, is one of the few in the city.

The only recorded excitement was in the very early days, when an adjacent gents outfitter decided to burn some rubbish in the back yard. A conflagration occurred and the fire brigade were called, somewhat delaying the return of the staff to Shaftesbury Square.
