Buncrana (Irish: Bun Cranncha, meaning "foot of the (River) Crana") is a town in County Donegal. It is on the eastern shore of Lough Swilly on the Inishowen peninsula, 23 kilometres northwest of Derry. At the 2016 census, the population was recorded as 6785 (LinkExternal link Central Statistics Office, making it the second most populous town in County Donegal, after Letterkenny, and the largest in Inishowen.
