Buncrana (Irish: Bun Cranncha, meaning "foot of the (River) Crana") is a town in County Donegal. It is on the eastern shore of Lough Swilly on the Inishowen peninsula, 23 kilometres northwest of Derry. At the 2016 census, the population was recorded as 6785 (LinkExternal link Central Statistics Office, making it the second most populous town in County Donegal, after Letterkenny, and the largest in Inishowen.

Buncrana has a well-developed tourism industry, and it is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the northwest of Ireland. This is possibly due to its close proximity to Derry, and its position as the main town on the Inishowen peninsula together with the important recreational Blue Flag beach on the shores of Lough Swilly at Lisfannon, just south of the town.
