The image was taken at the mouth of the River Shimna on the morning after the night before. Newcastle was lucky, although Ophelia brought strong winds with it which lasted from 1500 hrs Monday till 0500 hours Tuesday there were no incidences of major damage anywhere in the town. The storm wrought havoc mainly in the southern and western parts of the island of Ireland, although there were very strong winds out in the Irish Sea.
