The second HFDF site is certainly the best preserved, its octagonal blast wall is complete, and so are the tower foundations inside. This may have been the first of the four stations to have been built, as the brickwork of the blast wall is of a different colour to that of the others. It lies about 70 metres to the east of the windmill.
