The tomb of the 18th century poet and playwright Oliver Goldsmith is hidden away at the back of the Temple Church in what was formerly the churchyard. Oliver Goldsmith was born on 10th November 1728 in County Roscommon, Ireland, and is best known for his novel 'The Vicar of Wakefield', and his play 'She Stoops to Conquer'. He died on 4th April 1774 in London.
87-89 Saffron Hill was the Head Office of Aircraft-Marine Products, Great Britain (known as AMP). They had factories in Port Glasgow (closed in 1999) and Bideford (later Tyco Electronics) which closed in 2013.
