Lincoln's Inn Fields - East side
A view towards Lincoln's Inn Chapel and Hall across the gardens of Lincoln's Inn Fields. Cattle grazed on this ground until the 17C. The gardens were designed originally by Inigo Jones and laid out to the size of the base of the Great Pyramid. Frequented until recently by homeless people the fences were made higher and the gardens locked at night to keep them out although there are still soup kitchens which appear nearby to feed these poor hungry people. The largest public square in London.
