TA0828 : Park Street, Kingston upon Hull

taken 6 years ago, near to Kingston Upon Hull, England

Park Street, Kingston upon Hull
Park Street, Kingston upon Hull
Park Street at its junction with Anlaby Road. Originally, the street extended to Spring Bank. When a bridge was built over the railway line to Paragon Station, the southern section of the road became truncated at the railway line.

Between the old and new streets, one of the 'iconic' K6 cast-iron telephone kiosks. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1935, the boxes are without the royal crown and are cream-painted, being unique to the former Hull Corporation Telephone Department. Further information: LinkExternal link
