Girvan's Shannon Class Lifeboat
Girvan's Shannon Class Lifeboat
This was the second entry to the harbour, watched by a lone piper and a single photographer at the water's edge. RNLI invested £2.1 million into "Elizabeth & Gertrude Allan". The Shannon Class is the first modern all-weather lifeboat to be propelled by water-jets instead of traditional propellers, making her the most agile and manoeuvrable all-weather lifeboat yet.
