taken 6 years ago, near to Marfleet, Kingston Upon Hull, England

Holderness Road, Kingston upon Hull
At the junction with Holland Street, Lloyds Bank, No.272 Holderness Road. The entire building was once occupied by a branch of Fletcher's, the grocers, where my late uncle was the manager.

Outside the premises is one of the 'iconic' K6 cast-iron telephone kiosks designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1935. The boxes are without the royal crown and are cream-painted, being unique to the former Hull Corporation Telephone Department. Further information: LinkExternal link
