Former inn now licensed premises again
This early 17th century building was for many years the Red Lion, or Lion, Inn. It closed in 1938 and was used first as a bookshop, then for a variety of commercial purposes. In 2017 it opened again as licensed premises, but as a café with flats above.
Despite the 19th century frontage, these premises at the north-west end of High Street (on the corner with Cruxwell Street) are the oldest secular buildings in Bromyard and date from the 15th century (information from Charles Gordon Clark).
