Sculcoates railway station (site), Hull, Yorkshire
Opened in 1853 by the York & North Midland Railway, later part of the North Eastern Railway, on the line from Hull Paragon to Victoria Docks (later also Withernsea and Hornsea), this station closed to passengers in 1912 when Wilmington station was resited to be just 300m to the east.
View east towards Wilmington. The original railway track is where the road now is, the single platform and station building being to the right of it where the cycle track now is. To the left is the Grade II listed Sculcoates goods shed, built by the North Eastern Railway. The railway track was diverted slightly to the left in the first decade of the 20th century when the replacement Wilmington swing bridge was opened, just visible in the distance.
