A Kelly's "coal boat" at Belfast
By the late 80’s, Kelly’s (the Belfast ship owner and coal merchant) fleet had been reduced to just four coasters. That said, they were bigger than the previous generation and could handle greater cargoes. It was traditional for the four to return to Belfast for the Christmas break. The festivities over, the “Ballygrainey” is seen departing the Abercorn Basin on return to revenue-earning service. See also J4187 : Former Kelly's office, Carrickfergus.
