Roadworks and Diversion at Magheralahan
Roadworks and Diversion at Magheralahan
Severe flooding during the last week of August 2017 caused the bridge over the Lemacrossan River to collapse (LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) Donegal Now). This resulted in a small diversion taking the R240 between Carndonagh and Quigley's Point a few metres downstream to cross a temporary (Bailey) bridge whilst the original was being repaired (C4933 : Bailey Bridge over Lemacrossan River).
Irish Regional Road R240

Running for just less than 10 miles, the R240 is an Irish regional road on the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal which directly connects two places on the near-circular R238: Quigley's Point in the south and Carndonagh in the north.
