taken 6 years ago, near to Avebury, Wiltshire, England

Avebury henge [5]
Avebury henge [5]
Seen from Green Street is the waterlogged inner ditch and one stone in the north east quadrant of the henge. Access was prohibited for reasons of erosion control.
Avebury henge consists of an earth bank, an internal ditch and one large and two small stone circles within the bank. A village lies within the stone circle. Avebury is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and, with Stonehenge, is part of a World Heritage Site. There is much detail at: LinkExternal link and at: LinkExternal link
