Parklands started life as a public-sector estate which became unpopular with tenants. Vacant and blocked-up it was eventually sold to the private sector. Completely renovated it became part of the private lettings market. By January 2016 vacant and with an “agreed” patch on the agent’s “for sale” board.
The site has the following planning permission (9 Januaty 2018) “LA04/2017/0043/F Demolition of existing building and construction of residential development consisting of 104 apartments (18no 1 bed, 83no. 2 bed and 3no. 3 bed) with associated fitness suite, car parking and landscaping Parklands Knocknagoney Dale Knocknagoney Belfast”.
There is also the following application (17 December 2018) for planning permission “LA04/2019/0025/F Demolition of existing residential building and construction of 90No. apartments with associated car parking and landscaping. Parklands Knocknagoney Dale Knocknagoney Belfast”.
