On the left enclosed by railings is a memorial to Francis Dukinfield Astley SJ9497 : Memorial to Francis Dukinfield Astley. On the right is the new Sunday School building which opened in 1987. In the foreground are two table tombs. The one of the right bears an inscription to Thomas Harrison who died in 1821.
Old Chapel, Dukinfield

The first Unitarian Chapel, built here in 1707, was irreparably damaged by a storm in 1839. Stones from the old chapel were used as the foundations for the present building which was opened on 26th August 1840. It is Grade II* listed LinkExternal link
